Gaining knowledge of what is written in the Sutra has no meaning. 

Because what is written  in the sutra of  Mahayana Buddhism

is  the  request of the author (or the Great Spirit of the universe ) , 

in  what state of the heart  and what the way of living etc.

he or she wishes  us to be.
